Rabbi Menachem Tendler

Head Rabbi

A native from Baltimore, Maryland, Rabbi Menachem Tendler has distinguished himself as one of the premier educators and spiritual leaders in our community. Described by his colleagues as "personable, positive and upbeat" Rabbi, he was raised on Yeshiva Lane, which has been likened to "growing up in a year-round bungalow colony steeped in Torah and Tradition". He learned at Toras Chesed Yeshiva in Lakewood, NJ under the tutelage of Rabbi Nosson Stein and, from there, continued onto the Mir Yeshiva in Jerusalem where he received his Rabbinic ordination from Rav Zalman Nechemia Goldberg, Chief Justice of the Rabbinical High Court of Jerusalem. Rabbi Tendler joined the U.City Shul as our Head Rabbi in 2013 supported by his wife, Rebbetzin Zelda Tendler, and their 5 children.
